What Is Yoga? A brief history...
Yoga is an ancient science, thought to originate from the Aryan traditions of India predating 3000BC. Yoga seeks to bring balance to the body, mind and spirit of participants; while perfecting the physical, mental and emotional aspects of health and enhancing self-development and self-awareness.
The Yoga postures (Asanas) and breathing (Pranayama) exercise every part of the body (muscles, joints, spine, organs, glands and nerves). They release tension and liberate energy, revitalise and bring clarity, calmness and improved concentration of the mind.
Most yoga classes in the West focus exclusively on asana, the physical postures of yoga. While it’s a good thing to stretch and tone, it's an even better thing to stretch and tone while slowing down the breath and incorporating other yogic meditation techniques.
Yoga At Work:
Balanced Bodies are flexible with booking arrangements. We prefer to visit your premises and determine the optimal format for your session. We gauge factors such as the space available, lighting, number of participants and their skill level.
Anyone can do yoga—no matter how young or old you are, whether you’re a couch potato or a professional athlete. Size and fitness level do not matter because there are modifications for every yoga pose. The idea is to explore your limits, not strive for pre conceived perfection.
The next step is to decide whether you would like a one off session or a 6-8 week 'course' which we provide for groups of up to 12 participants.
What Do You Need?
We can provide you with towels and mats, or the preferred and ultimately cheaper option for course participants is to purchase a mat of their own. We make bulk equipment purchases and are therefore able to provide you with products at well below standard retail prices.
